Three Visitors
Most folks believe these were three heavenly beings in human bodies. Some think they were all created angels; others, that one of them was the Son of God, the Angel of the covenant. Through these visitors, the Lord promised Abraham that he and his wife Sarah would have a son, even though they were both very old.

Sarah
Abram wasn’t the only person in this story who got a name change. Sarah was Abraham’s wife (Genesis 11:29). Sarah helped her husband show hospitality to the three visitors who came to tell them that they would have a son (Gen 18:6). She later gave birth to her son Isaac when she was 90 years old, 25 years after God’s Promise.
Bible References
Abraham
Abraham lived in the city of Ur (sounds like I’m clearing my throat). God told Abraham that he would become the father of a great nation. Abraham trusted God and was obedient to Him and after 25 years, God’s promise was fulfilled through the birth of Isaac. God tested Abraham’s faith by asking him to sacrifice his Isaac - this interaction pointed to how God would provide His only Son, Jesus Christ, as a sacrifice for the sins of the world. Click here to see how Jesus' life and sacrifice can benefit you!
Bible References
Isaac (Young)
Isaac was the promised son to Abraham and Sarah. He was born when Abraham was 100 years old and Sarah was 90 years old (and you thought YOUR parents were old). Isaac was known as the child of promise, but that promise seemed in doubt after God commanded Abraham to offer Isaac as a sacrifice on a mountain in the land of Moriah. Q & A
How did Abraham's life show that God wants to bless you?
God promised Abram (Abraham) the gifts of land, a son and many descendants. He encouraged him by showing him the stars in the night sky. Like the stars, Abram’s descendants will be too many to count. God is a loving and giving God who wants to bless His people. He promises to protect you and He encourages you to not be afraid. When God blesses you, it is so that you will be a blessing to others. Discover God's love and plan for you
What can we learn from Abraham and Sarah having a baby when they were 'too old' to have a baby?
Nothing is too difficult for God to do! When you realize that God is the Creator of everything, that He is Almighty, and that His “is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory and the majesty” (1 Chronicles 29:11), it makes sense that nothing is too hard for the Lord (Genesis 18:14, Jeremiah 32:17) and that, “Nothing is impossible with God” (Luke 1:37). Nothing! Absolutely nothing! Discover God's love and plan for you
How does Abraham's relationship with God show us God's desire to have a relationship with us that will last forever?
God offered Abram a gift of a special friendship or relationship with HIM! That’s right: a special friendship with GOD HIMSELF! It was a gift that would last forever. Adam and Eve tainted their relationship with God by sinning. The result is that “everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard”. When you confess your sin and accept Jesus as Savior, your relationship with God the Father is restored. “The wages of sin is death but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” You become a child of God and have eternal life. Your relationship with God is forever! Discover how you can have a relationship with God
What does Abraham's life show us in regards to what should be most important to us?
We can learn from Abraham that we should put God first before everything else. God was at the top of Abraham’s list. He had faith in God and trusted in God’s promises. He obeyed God and put God first above all else, even his love for his only son. In 1 Samuel 15: 22 God says that “Obedience is better than sacrifice.” Jesus said, “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” In other words, put God first, above all else. Discover God's love and plan for you
Does Abraham's experience with Isaac show us that God will provide for us?
Sure does! Sometimes we find ourselves in tough situations where we don’t think anything or anyone can get us out. But, God is a provider – and when we obey Him, He always has a plan. God provided the ram for Abraham’s sacrifice. It took the place of Abraham’s only son. This is a “picture” for us of how God provided salvation for sinners through the sacrificial death of His Only Son Jesus (the Lamb of God,=) on the cross. Jesus is God’s Perfect Gift to you. Read John 3:16. Replace the words ‘the world’ and ‘everyone’ with your own name. Discover how you can experience God's Perfect Gift
